My Journey from Moldova to Mural and Textile Art
One day, feeling overwhelmed by the darkness in my paintings, I decided to clear out my studio and start fresh. Instead of reaching for fancy supplies, I turned to simple white fabrics from local craft stores. I began creating designs with white paint on white synthetic fabric, embracing the purity of the materials. But it was the moment I started scorching the threads that everything changed. Watching the fabric melt before my eyes felt like a revelation—the raw, textured beauty was unlike anything I had seen before. From that point on, the flame became my brush, and I began intentionally drawing, sculpting, and painting with it. This shift marked the beginning of a new chapter in my art, one that would shape my MFA show and ignite a wave of invitations to exhibit across South Florida.
