The COLORAT Duo

Our journey as The COLORAT Duo is born from a lifetime of creativity shared between a mother and daughter. From a young age, Onorina grew up surrounded by art: watching me weave tapestries, paint, and draw. It wasn't long before she was weaving her mini-tapestries, sketching beautiful drawings, and exploring crafts with a natural joy and a social spirit, a quality she still carries today.

After graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Onorina built a vibrant body of work that continues to inspire us both. Together, we create photography-based art that captures close-up details of transforming textures, colors, and patterns, turning them into artworks that stand on their own..

Today, while Onorina leads her beauty and creative studio in Paris, she continues to collaborate with me, selecting and refining imagery drawn from her inspiring work. This colourful, inviting collection is designed to uplift and inspire all who experience it, whether displayed in homes, public spaces, or commissioned for unique, personalised projects.

A Gentle Rebellion

In a world that feels increasingly disconnected, The COLORAT Duo is our gentle rebellion. It’s a mother and daughter reaching out to each other, and to the world, through color, texture, and the joy of creating together. Our work is about legacy, continuity, and taking care of one another in a time when those deep generational bonds can so easily get lost.

Working with family is incredibly precious, and not many have the gift of doing it. We deeply value this path and draw constant inspiration from studio practices like Humberto Campana’s work with local family workshops. We appreciate the way they take ordinary, leftover materials and upcycle them into vivid, museum-grade sculptural designs. This is exactly what we aspire to do.

Similarly, we want our work to show how sustainability and heritage can come together through hand-crafted art, celebrating both the memories we share and the new things we can create.
